Fact And Opinion - Knowing, Knowledge, and Understanding - What is working memory? - Study24us

Fact And Opinion:

It is quintessential to differentiate between a fact and an opinion whilst reading a passage. For it helps us to better understand the passage and its nature. There is, but one difference between a fact and an opinion and that is, a fact is always substantiated with proper evidence to prove its authenticity, which makes it impervious to objections. Whilst an opinion is not backed by any evidence to prove its authenticity, As a result, it is susceptible to objections.

Knowing, Knowledge, and Understanding:

Knowing means to gather the information about the subject with the assistance of observation and resources we have. It is the first step of conceptualising the topic; by aggregating the information in the form of observation and with the help of resources we arrive at the conclusion known as knowledge. Knowledge can also be defined as the memory we have after knowing the subject. It is the second step of conceptualising the subject. Finally, we arrive at understanding, which might be an abstract topic for some or some might take it as a synonym of knowledge, but it is neither of them. Understanding is the result of critically analysing the knowledge from different points of view in order to broaden our perspective about the topic. As a result we can then use the understanding and apply it to different subjects to conceptualise the topic we want to conceptualise.

What is working memory?

Working memory is the process of understanding the subject we have at hand. It helps us to conceptualise everything in a nutshell while maintaining quality and relevance. It is not concerned with how we memorise things, rather it deals with how understanding takes place and becomes a part of our memory.
